Amman, Jordan (October 2012) Globitel is pleased to announce the release of version 3.0 for one of its leading roaming solutions, Intelligent Traffic Steering. This significant update reflects many months of research and development, to improve the system and bring unique and creative features.
Some of the new features for version 3.0 are:
· Usage Based Steering
Globitel traffic steering system introduced a new steering for outbound roamers criteria that is based on the roamers usage of Voice, SMS, and Data in the visited mobile networks; whereby the operator outbound roamers are steered to networks according to a target network usage factor which correlates to revenue. The system basically calculates the revenue from each operator and the average revenue per user (ARPU), it formulates a percentage distribution based on the usage analysis calculated, and based on usage it consequently recommends the figures to be applied; furthermore, the system has the ability to auto apply these recommended percentages so as to enhance the roaming revenue directly.
· New rule for Supporting 3G Steering
Globitel traffic steering system can now operate to handle the 3G traffic steering by integrating with the mobile network international links in order to monitor the roamers movement, whereby the collected data is analyzed and based on the predefined steering percentages the rules will take effect. 3G steering can work in mixed mode with 2G or in with different separate rules.
· Anti-Steering Immunity
Globitel traffic steering system is immune against the Anti-steering systems that might exist in the visited networks which act on the basis of VLR Simulation; Globitel’s ITS applies concrete measures to overcome the Anti-steering systems effect.
